Fused Glass Process
Multiple pieces of glass are assembled and fired for the first
time in the extreme heat of a kiln causing them to
become one piece of glass. The fused glass is placed over a mold for the second
firing, called slumping, which defines the shape of the finished
piece.
Dichroic Glass
Definition
Dichroic means two colors.
This glass appears to be
different colors
when viewed from different angles or in varying degrees of illumination. Dichroic glass is created by adding a
thin layer of metallic oxides which transmit certain light
wavelengths while reflecting others, causing an iridescent
effect.
All Art Glass items are handcrafted and one of a kind. Similar reproductions may be possible depending on glass availability. You will find
Art Glass items in all price ranges.
Caution:
Do not use
metallic holders for candles or tea lights in metal, as it may
overheat and damage glass.
Use glass or plastic holders instead. Thank you.
